It seems rather long-winded. With the addition of some pronouns it could read:
John asked Sarah to the party and she said yes. John was very pleased that she accepted.
An indefinite pronoun is one that does not refer to a specific person rather it refers to a general group or things. For example the pronoun 'I' refers to a specific person. Whereas the indefinite pronoun 'everybody' refers to a general group of people.

Some indefinite pronouns take either a singular or plural verb. "Some of the crows were sitting on the fence." - the plural were refers to the crows. Choose the correct verb for these sentences.

Just like the nouns these words replace they can be singular or plural; they can refer to males or females; and they change their form depending on where they are used in a sentence.
